वृक्षारोपण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए तीन सदस्यीय समिति का गठन
नई दिल्ली। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दिल्ली के दक्षिणी रिज क्षेत्र में सड़क चौड़ीकरण के नाम पर पेड़ों की अवैध कटाई को गंभीरता से लेते हुए डीडीए अधिकारियों पर 25-25 हजार रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया है। अदालत ने इस कार्रवाई को अवमानना की श्रेणी में रखा और स्पष्ट किया कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण के नियमों का उल्लंघन किसी भी सूरत में बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा।
न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत और न्यायमूर्ति एन. कोटिश्वर सिंह की पीठ ने निर्देश दिया कि भविष्य में वृक्षारोपण, निर्माण कार्य या किसी भी प्रकार के पारिस्थितिक प्रभाव वाले फैसलों में अदालत के समक्ष लंबित मामलों का उल्लेख अनिवार्य होगा। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने डीडीए और दिल्ली सरकार को सलाह देने के लिए एक तीन सदस्यीय समिति भी गठित की है, जो हरित क्षेत्र बढ़ाने और वृक्षारोपण को प्रोत्साहित करने पर सुझाव देगी।
